Grace Children's Home
the home that love builtOn July 7, 2015 we held the Grand Opening of Grace Children’s Home in the Village of Peddapuram, India. On that day, even while finishing touches were being made to the building, fifty-four children ate their first meal in their new home and began setting up their living spaces. There are no words adequate enough to share the joy and love that was evident that day among everyone who attended the small celebration. How do describe the feeling of seeing a child’s face when he or she realizes they are home?
The journey to that day – from the official ground-breaking ceremony in October of 2011 – took three years and nine months. It would be a difficult assignment to document the various tasks and duties that was accomplished during that season, but the list would include many organizational and administrative obligations required for Agapao, Inc. to become a 501(c)3 organization; as-well-as, raising the support and funds required to build this home for 50+ children.
To say we are thrilled and inspired with the fulfillment of our vision to complete this home is an understatement. We have been faithful to follow God’s leadership and timing in this initial endeavor and we give him complete credit and recognition for the achievement. To God be the glory! We are also thankful to the many individuals and groups who donated financially in building this home. It was your investment – not just in a home, but in a child – that made this vision a reality.
Although we will fully celebrate the completion of the children’s home we do not want to be distracted from the work that is left to do. While July 7, 2015 marks a great accomplishment is does not represent the completion of our work in India. There are far too many children whose lives at risk for us to bask in success—there is so much more to be done and we have already proceeded with additional initiatives to show “love in action” both locally and in Andhra Pradesh India
To make Grace Children’s Home possible it’s necessary that we have partners, in the way of sponsors, willing to help offset the cost of a child’s care through a sponsorship commitment. Please consider sponsoring a child.
