In the criminal justice system sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories…
If you’ve watched Law & Order SVU then you’ve probably heard that famous intro. Today’s society is full of news stories about sexually based offenses, from high-powered execs sexually assaulting actresses/actors, to teachers molesting students, to sex trafficking all over the world. It does not matter your age, gender, race, or nationality…it’s happening everywhere and to be honest it makes me sick. Often times I find myself feeling powerless, like there is nothing I can to do to help. I think that is why I love watching Law & Order SVU the bad guys are always caught. The truth is there are elite squads all over the world fighting for justice for those who can’t fight for themselves. Yet, it still seems like it’s not enough. A very smart man once told me “You can’t save the world but you can save one person”
If you are reading this blog then you are probably familiar with The Agapao Movement and their fight against human trafficking…if you are reading this and have no idea what The Agapao Movement is I want to urge you to check out their website www.agapaomovement.net to see how you can get involved. I want to share some ways you can make a difference in the fight against sexually based offenses.

You can find out more information on our website’s home page. My prayer is that this post will spark a fire in your heart to make a difference. I find it interesting that we will blow Facebook up with posts about animal adoptions and animal abuse (I am not against, I too am a huge animal lover) but we tend to turn our eyes and hearts to God’s children…just an observation.
